Hiking disclaimer

Walking in the mountains can injure or kill you. This site is a set of notes for planning, not a person on the trail with you.

You walk at your own risk

Weather, altitude, river crossings, exposure, wildlife, navigation mistakes, and other people on the trail can all cause harm. Hike2China is not with you when you walk, and we do not accept that risk for you.

Not a guide, and not an agency

Pages describe routes so you can compare them. They are not a supervised itinerary, a permit, a safety briefing, or an offer to guide, drive, or insure you. We do not book trips.

Conditions change

Treat every page as a starting point. Before you go, confirm:

Official notices and people on the ground override a page on this site.

Fitness and difficulty

Any grade, distance, or season on a route page is an estimate. It is not a judgment that the route is safe or suitable for you. Altitude sickness, heat, cold, and your own experience are yours to weigh.

Maps

This site does not provide turn-by-turn navigation or a guaranteed track. Do not use a route page as your only map. Carry what the terrain requires, and leave a plan with someone who is not on the hike.

Track files

A GPX download is a record of a line someone walked. It is not a promise that the line is still there. Landslides, floods, earthquakes, storms, fire, and other force majeure can close, move, or erase that line. The file can then point you onto ground that is no longer the hike.

You have to decide whether the file is still usable. Check official notices, people on the ground, and a current map before you follow it. A download is not proof the route is open or safe.

Rescue, medicine, and insurance

We do not organize rescue, medical care, or insurance. Remote areas may have slow or no phone service. Arrange cover and emergency contacts yourself.

Other people and businesses

Lodges, drivers, parks, porters, and videos mentioned or linked from a page are independent of Hike2China. We do not control them, and we are not responsible for their prices, conduct, or safety.

Errors

We try to keep routes useful. Names, times, and access details can still be wrong. If a page and the ground disagree, believe the ground.

The terms of use set the limit of our liability. Local law that cannot be waived still applies.
